I am constantly on the hunt for great oil cleansers. Yes, I love a whole lineup of products, but with such a fundamental part of any skincare routine, it’s great to have options. I have a new chart-topper, and I am excited to share it with you today. Run, don’t walk, to get yourself some of the Light Work Rosehip Fruit Extract Cleansing Oil by Pai.

Let’s start with the gorgeous color. It’s intoxicatingly orange – the sign of excellent rosehip extract. I confess that I was sad as I watched the quantity in the beautiful glass body dwindle with each use. It looked SO good on my bathroom countertop.

And the smell … oh the aroma. It is, in a word, incredible. It’s how you want every natural product to smell. Like a walk through springtime, pardon the prose. You have to love rosehip, jasmine, lime, orange, geranium, and rosemary. Incredible.

Ok, let’s talk functionality because this beauty packs a punch. We love oil cleansers because “oil clings to oil,” as Pai so perfectly explains. We use an oil cleanser as the first part of a cleansing routine to gently lift and remove the oils, dirt, and grime that accumulates on our skin during the day (say nothing of makeup and other products that can sit and dull gorgeous skin cells). I love the Light Work Rosehip Fruit Extract Cleansing Oil by Pai because I found it particularly effective with sunscreens, SPFs, and waterproof makeup (such as stubborn mascara).

I use Pai’s cleansing oil on dry skin, starting by massaging a few liberal pumps into my face and neck and letting the gentle circular motions and superior formulations do the work. It’s so satisfying to watch your makeup lift from your skin. I’d work every square inch of my face, chin, and neck using my fingertips. (Oh, and don’t worry, it’s so gentle on your eyes. I get in my lashes to thoroughly clean each night.) I then lightly moisten my hands with water and return to the task of massaging – introducing water to the oil cleanser creates a gentle, lovely emulsion that washes away the dirt and grime. When my skin feels thoroughly pampered, I splash my face with water to remove the product, sometimes using a muslin or washcloth to get the last bits off (I love the extra exfoliating you get for free with this process).

Honestly, there are nights when I stop my routine there. My skin feels so nourished and hydrated after using Pai’s cleansing oil that I can slip off to bed. But! It’s also an incredible foundation for a second cleanse and your nighttime skin routine. I love it, from top to bottom. Truly I cannot recommend it enough.
