I’ve found a perfect way to recycle old egg cartons by turning them into flower lights. Want a pro-tip? Get your kids involved to make this project extra-fun! In the end, you have a fun a decoration for your house and your children have a perfect Mother’s Day gift they helped make.
- Egg cartons (cardboard or styrofoam)
- Acrylic craft paint
- Sharp utility knife
- Foam paintbrush
- Hot glue gun
- String of lights
- Cut your cartons in squares
- Shape your flowers
- Assemble lights
- Once the paint has thoroughly dried, use the utility knife to cut a small X shaped slit in the bottom of your flower. This slit is where you insert the light bulbs.
- Insert one of the light bulbs through one of the flower just far enough that you can remove the bulb and change it if it burns out.
