BPA Toxic Plastic In Canned Foods

BPA Toxic Plastic In Canned Foods
Print Friendly, PDF & Email

It’s a litte alarming to realize that up to 57% of the most commonly-eaten canned foods were found by the Environmental Working Group, to contain unsafe levels of Bisphenol-A (BPA). It’s found in the plastic lining of the can and is especially prevalent in infant formula, chicken soup and canned pasta. BPA has been associated with a number of health issues and diseases including prostate and breast cancer, and infertility. There are a few companies that claim they use BPA-free can linings, however, the only company that I can say for sure doesn’t, is Eden Foods. I love this company because they produce a huge selection of extremely high-quality, organic foods. All of their canned beans are awesome, as are their pastas. So if it matters to you to be sure that no BPA is seeping into your diet, be sure to question the company whose canned foods you buy, and if in doubt, go with Eden – they’re available at many large chain grocery stores and almost all large health food stores.
