I frequently get asked what I think about alkaline water, and many of my friends have forked out thousands of dollars for one of the pyramid scheme machines (and they’ve gone on to make a bit of cash selling them to others!). But I tend to approach most pyramid schemes or 5 thousand dollar machines that tell you that it’s their way or the highway, with a huge dollop of skepticism.
Here’s the deal – and you might want to pass this info on to anyone who’s on the fence about either buying a crazy expensive machine, or people who buy (even worse) one-time-use plastic bottles full of the stuff. YOU CAN MAKE IT YOURSELF for next to nothing.
But before I tell you how – I do want to point out that alkalized water can be helpful. Just as much as food that helps your body to more alkaline state. Studies have even found that drinking alkalized water can also lower bad cholesterol.
Now for the DIY:
Simply add 3/4 tsp of baking soda to 1 quart of water and you are done. Sounds too simple to be true, right? But this IS alkalized water at its best.
You’d be way better off investing a whole home water filtration system to get rid of the chlorine and other pollutants from your drinking and shower water, and then you can add your baking soda and pretty much get your “alkalized water” for free.
