In celebration of National Green Smoothie day (yes, there totally IS one), I present my Gorgeously Green Smoothie. It is the ultimate smoothie because it contains vitamins, minerals, protein, amino acids, and is bursting with cancer-preventing phytonutrients.

I recommend downing a glass of my Gorgeously Green Smoothie every morning before your hit your caffeine. Alternatively, if you’re not up for a green smoothie first thing in the morning, consider having it at lunch, or as an afternoon snack.

The beautiful thing about my green smoothie is that it tastes sweet and delicious – so you wont’ gag as you try to get it down. Actually, it’s so yummy that your kids might like it too.

I’ve given you two options: coconut water or almond milk – the latter makes it creamier. Also I’ve given you the option of Chlorella -this will super-green your smoothie. Chlorella is better than Spirulina, which you see in many green protein blends. The reason is because Spirulina is very often contaminated with heavy metals, whereas chlorella is not.

If there’s one healthy gift you give yourself this year, make it a daily, healthy smoothie. And BTW, if you are vegan or vegetarian, and worry about not getting enough protein – my Gorgeously Green smoothie contains a ton of it in the healthiest form: hemp protein.

  •  1 8-ounce glass almond milk or coconut water
  • 1 scoop hemp or hemp protein powder
  • 1/2 ripe banana
  • 1/2 cup spinach
  • 1 cup Romaine lettuce
  • 1 kiwi, peeled and chopped
  • 1 tbsp Chlorella powder (optional)

Throw all the ingredients in a blender or if you have it – the Magic Bullet (LOVE!!!!) and you’re good to go!
