So many of us are dealing with inflammation, right? What causes it? Stress is a number one offender, but there are many other triggers: Daily toxins that we are subjected to through our air, food and water, and a poor diet. Other contributing factors may be medication, and especially use of antibiotics. Some of us don’t even know we are suffering from chronic inflammation, we just don’t feel our best. As an insurance policy, why not try my anti-inflammatory smoothie!

So why not create a delicious smoothie, which will help to alleviate daily inflammation. This is one of my all-time favorites. Enjoy!

Anti-Inflammatory Smoothie

Ingredients

8 ounces coconut water

2 tsp chia seeds

1 cup frozen pineapple

1/2 frozen banana

A handful of raw walnuts

1/4 – 1/2 tsp ground turmeric

A tiny pinch of black pepper

2 dates, pitted

Instructions:

  1. Soak the chia seeds in the coconut water the night before.
  2. Blend all the ingredients together until smooth. If you like it a little more icy, by all means add 1/2 cup of crushed ice.
