I’ve been dying to make this simple Rose Cacao Exfoliating Mask for weeks. It gently exfoliates, deeply hydrates, and nourishes. What more could you want in a cleanser. It also infuses your skin with antioxidants. I recommend using it three times per week. This way you will give your skin a deep exfoliation, and a treatment mask at the same time. It really is a two-in-one products.
Other benefits? Hmmmm…did I mention that it smells INCREDIBLE? And I think I may also have forgotten to mention that it costs about 2 dollars to make a small jar, whereas you’ll pay upwards of 3o bucks in a beauty boutique. You do have an upfront investment of the cacao (which you can use in baking and smoothies), and the oils, but you’ll get tons of jars of mask from this little investment.
Pros: It’s all natural, made from ingredients you can find at your local healthy store, and it’s the ultimate self-care treat for your skin. It also effectively yet gently exfoliates dead skin cells.
Cons: None really. Oh, wait a minute, it’s probably best to keep it in the fridge as you are not using a preservative. But I recommend making a small jar, so you can make it fresh every couple of weeks.
1 tbsp raw cacao powder
2 tbsp organic rolled oats
3 tbsp jojoba oil
1 tbsp rose hip seed oil
2 ounce jar
Place the oat and cacao in a small blender or spice grinder and pulse or grind. You want to just break up the rolled oats, but don’t over process because you don’t want a fine powder.
Place in a small bowl and add the remaining ingredients. Stir well.
Transfer to jar.
To use: 2 or 3 times a week, massage a generous amount of the product into your skin. Once you’ve massaged for a full minute, rinse with warm water, and continue with your skin care routine as usual. You
