SMELLING GORGEOUS

ajneRegular perfumes use literally hundreds of synthetic chemicals to produce that long-lasting, strong (and often sickly,) scent – the cloying scent that lingers long after someone has passed you or walked out of the elevator.mauibutters1 Many of us are more sensitive to these chemicals that we may even realize and now I know what’s in them, I only use absolutely natural/non-synthetic perfumes. Ajne (pictured left) is my favorite perfume company on earth. Owner, Jane Hendler is a frequently invited guest to snazzy Hollywood parties, where she sets up a perfume bar, creating custom blends for each guest. Every time I wear my Ajne perfume, total strangers accost me and ask what perfume I’m wearing. Jane gathers rare and precious plant oils from around the world. I highly recommend purchasing a Sample Perfume Set. When buying natural perfumes without the phthalates (the hormone disruptors that help to make the fragrance last,) you want to find a company that doesn’t dilute their essential oils too much – this could result in a weak scent that’ll disappear before you leave the house. If you want an easy everyday roll-on scent, I love Trillium Organics “Love Amorous Agenda” Aromarolla. Trillium uses only the purest of pure oils and this blend is heavenly. I am particularly taken with Nuworld Botanicals “Aromatherapy Personals To Go” These are therapeutic little roll-ons that can boost your mood naturally. There’s one for every occasion – from “crave control” to “anxiety relief” – just what we need in a recession! Finally, if you’ve ever visited Hawaii and wish you could just clothe yourself in the heady perfume of the Maui flower forever, you now can. Maui Flower Butter Natural Perfumes(pictured right) are dreamy.

  2. The Wholearth/Danny Seo organic perfume line is another good one. I just bought a bunch at Anthropologie and it’s really sweet and fresh. A little pricey ($65), but I think it’s no more than like a Prada perfume.
