sinkpositiveHere’s an easy, cost-effective change you can make that has a multitude of eco-friendly benefits. This neat little sink, takes sits on top of your toilet tank and harvests fresh water to wash your hands, then uses the gray water for to fill the bowl for the next flush. Since water is fast becoming a precious resource and a costly one at that, it makes sense to grab every opportunity we can to save it.

It also encourages hygiene – especially for kids, who can’t leave it alone.  Suddenly hand-washing becomes fun!

  1. This is such a cool idea. I wonder about the comfort of leaning over the bowl – and the various heights / shapes of the tank. My Dad is a plumber – I need to ask him if he has heard or seen this product.

  2. The sink over the commode is not very practical. As pointed out by another reader, it will definitely be uncomfortable leaning over the commode to wash one’s hands. This attempt to saving water is really being taken a little too far! People, come up with practical solutions and stop hawking junk!

  3. After watching the video from the manufacturer’s website, this device appears to use very little gray water and still relies heavily on tap water. To use the sink, you flush the toilet, the water comes on, you wash your hands, and even when done washing, the tap water continues to run to fill the tank. This product is listed as “green” but is really just a light shade of green. I would not purchase this product.

  4. I first saw something like this in an apartment in Japan (I think) where space is tight. The handwashing/water holding tank was to the side of the toilet. Great idea!

  5. We bought one of these for our basement bathroom & it’s great. This is the perfect application for it because it is not used for brushing your teeth or just washing your hands, just after flushing. Yes, it seems like the water runs for a long time but that’s only because it’s filling the tank!
