I don’t often treat myself to facials. I am just too busy (sad, I know!) and they can be pricey. Also, I’ve had a ton of pretty unimpressive facials along the way, and so I’m nervous about shelling out over 100 bucks for something that I can frankly do at home.
That being said, I was invited to experience a “Rose Quartz” facial at The Organic Pharmacy. It went way beyond my expectations, and if you ever get the chance to visit one of their stores (NY, MN, LA, and Chicago,) I highly recommend you get one.
I’m a mega fan of The Organic Pharmacy, and wish I could kit out my bathroom with every one of their products. They make the best perfume I have ever smelled, and a gazillion high-end, but beautiful products.
The co-founder, Margo Marrone, is British (most of the stores are in the UK, annoyingly), and she wanted to create treatments that use a variety of techniques that produce visible results.
During this signature facial, I was treated to 3 therapeutic masks of seaweed, honey & Jasmine, and Collagen Boost Lift. Each mask smelled more wonderful than the one before – it was utter sensual heaven. My aesthetician, the brilliant Kerry (Los Angeles store), used both traditional extraction methods to decongest my skin, and then used the rose crystals to decongest my lymphatic system. All this was accompanied by a delicious and very deep acupressure massage.
A week later, my skin still feels soft and dewy, and my husband has commented on my “Glow”. If you can’t get to one of their stores, there honestly isn’t a product in their online store that I wouldn’t highly recommend.
Margo Marrone opened her first shop in London in 2002. Being a pharmacist and homeopath, she wanted to help treat customer’s health issues naturally, with a focus on homeopathy. The Organic Pharmacy success and skincare evolved from Margo meticulously hand mixing healing tinctures, medicinal creams and blends in the back of the shop, where desperate clients were looking to be helped with coughs, colds as well as skin complaints.
I’m so glad that The Organic Pharmacy has now spread it’s wings and flown to our side of the Atlantic. If you ever get the chance to gift yourself with one of their facials, you absolutely will not regret it.
