La Costa Resort & Spa

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

We’re always on the lookout for great family resorts that help us to getaway from the stresses of life and get connected to a deeper purpose. We love eco, however, we also like a bit of luxury every now and then. We also love to find resorts where the kids can have a wild & wonderful time, while we can find our peace. Once such resort is just a couple of hours from Los Angeles, and minues away from San Diego. It’s La Costa Resort & Spa, which features the most enormous waterslide outside of a waterpark that I’ve ever seen. So you get to do the whole kid- aventure thing and get to have an amazing spa experience. The resort is set in amongst lush and beautiful grounds and is just mintues away from the beautiful beaches of Carlsbad.

If you can, just book an entire day to hang out at the spa. The therapeutic water features, which are surrounded by cascades of Bougainvillia blossoms, include a Roman waterfall, which will send you to heaven. You sit under a warm and thunderous stream of water and imagine you’re in the Yosemite valley sitting under that legendary waterfall. The pounding water releases all your muscle tensions, leaving you ready for a littel rest and relaxation on a sun-lounger by the pool!

chopra-centerThe jewel in the crown is The Chopra Center, which is located in the middle of the resort. I’ve always wanted to visit the original home of Deepak Chopra, whose many books have inspired me over the years. This is the place for a complete detox, overhaul or intense relaxation. Based on Ayurvedic principles (one of the oldest systems of medicine in history), you get to experience treatments that are beyond what any regular spa offers. You will learn yoga, meditation, deep relaxation, while experiencing Ayurvedic therapies across the board. People travel the world to visit the Chopra Center and I can see why.
