I have a lot of questions about smoothies for diabetics, or those with insulin-resistance. I am not a doctor, so I would always advise you to check with you doc first if you have any kind of health issue and want to introduce new foods into your diet. You just want to make sure that nothing interferes with your meds. But, as a holistic nutritionist, I love to see my clients being able to enjoy my gorgeously green smoothie for diabetics, without their blood sugars going up.
This smoothie obviously isn’t as sweet as other smoothies, but it’s still delicious and contains nutrients that will give you all the healthful nutrients you need.
In this smoothie you will get protein, omega-3 fatty acids, minerals, and vitamins.
If you need or want an extra protein boost, you could always add a scoop of plant-based, unsweetened protein powder, but if you do, you may need to add more coconut water.
I have given you the option of adding Amla powder for a mega anti-oxidant boost.
