If you don’t want to use toxic pesticides in your garden, try this effective homemade DIY garden pest spray. It works wonders on my tomatoes.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 onion
- 1 whole garlic bulb
- 12-inch piece ginger root
- 1 tbsp cayenne pepper
- 2 cups water
- 2 tbsp liquid castille soap.
DIRECTIONS:
- Cover the onion, garlic, ginger, and cayenne with 1 1/2 cups of boiling water and leave overnight in a mason jar or glass jug. In the morning, strain it.
- Add this stinky mixture to the water and liquid soap and pour into a large sprayer.
- Make sure you spray over the stems, and bottom and tops of the leaves.
Can some please finish the last sentence for us? It currently reads, “Add the…” leaving me wondering what I might be missing!
Also wondering if the onion and garlic cloves should be cut up at all before soaking?
Hey Lori – they don’t have to be!
