Your gut health (your microbiome), changes on a day-to-day basis, and is 100% affected by your diet. If you want to dramatically improve conditions down there, follow the 4 R’s to improve your gut health in 24 hours! Remember, a healthy gut is everything when it comes to your mental, emotional and physical health.

  1. Remove: The most important things to remove TODAY, are added sugars and processed foods. These two culprits tend to live hand-in-hand, so you’ve just got to take a deep breath, go cold turkey, and say bye bye to any food that is not a whole (and preferably plant-based food).
  2. Replace: Replace these processed foods with tons of veggies and low-sugar fruits (see image below). Also add fermented foods such as Kimchi, Sauerkraut, pickled veggies, and Kefir. I also recommend as many prebiotic foods as possible (radishes, Jerusalem artichokes, leeks, jicama, asparagus, carrots, and, of course, garlic and turmeric).
  3. Reinoculate: Introducing a good probiotic supplement into your diet, along with eating probiotic foods (yogurt, Miso, Tempeh etc), is crucial to get your gut into shape. I recommend Seed Probiotics.
  4. Repair: I recommend taking digestive enzymes with food for a while to aid in digestion. Also consider taking L-Glutamine, which is effective in repairing gut damage (3-5 grams a day). Also, Slippery Elm will help to soothe your digestive tract, and build up it’s protective lining.
