If you are concerned about GMO’s creeping into your food supply, what about them creeping into your skin care supplies. Don’t forget that some of the plant oils that are most commonly used in beauty products are very often genetically modified. What does this mean? Are they safe? I don’t think they are going to harm you, and by the time the ingredients have gone through the physical processing, most of the pesticides will have been removed, but I think it’s more a case of principle: If you are taking a stand against the use of GMO’s in the U.S. and if like me, you are pissed about the lack of labeling, you might want to vote with your dollars by purchasing GMO-Free beauty products.
I am thrilled to find out that a “Sophie Loves” brand, Andalou Naturals, was one of the first beauty companies to be non-GMO certified by the non GMO project. This is definitely a go-to for me. I love Andalou, and have for years. If you’d like to purchase GMO-Free beauty products from Andalou Naturals, use the promo code SOPHIE25 to receive a discount at checkout.
derma e and HANA Organics also offer GMO-free beauty products in their line up, just be sure to look for the non-GMO verified image above!
