Don’t you feel less-than when someone tells you they practice yoga every day? Do you wonder how on Earth they find the time, the discipline, and the motivation? I used to feel this way until I understood that a personal yoga “practice” can be literally 2 or 3 yoga poses.
So here’s my suggestion for all of you this week. Commit to a daily practice that you do at home. There are a plethora of great YouTube videos, or even better, sign up for MyYogaWorks (where you’ll get 6 free weeks if you use the code SOPHIE to try out of different length online classes). I recommend picking two or 3 poses that you either want to learn, or which are really challenging for you, and master them.
For me it’s Triangle Pose – it’s always a challenge for me to do it properly without hyper-extending my front knee. So in this pose I have to work on pulling my front knee up, engaging my front thigh, and making sure my knee cap is in line with my middle toes.
So what are the 3 or 4 poses that you are going to master over the next 3 0r 4 weeks? Make the decision, sign up for class, find a video, or get sign up for MyYogaWorks, and start NOW!
