Not all Shea Butters are created equal – trust me, when you try Out Of Africa’s Shea Butter products you’ll understand why! Shea butter has been marketed as the new “miracle” moisturizer. It comes from the Shea nut, which is predominantly grown in West Africa. However, as with any new ingredient that has become a buzzword, you have to make sure that you are buying a pure, unadulterated and unrefined product in order to get the benefits.
I try a plethora of products every single week, as does my daughter and my husband. I sneaked a body of bottle wash into the shower and here were the unsolicited reactions:
My daughter:” OMG!!! That is the most amazing smelling and feeling body wash ever – what is it mommy???”
My husband (who rarely comments):” Love that new body wash -where did it come from?”
I’ve never tried a body wash that is actually velvety and makes your skin feel totally moisturized when you step out of the shower, and then, there’s the body lotion! This is my fave – it’s intensely moisturizing, but strangely just absorbs straight into your skin. It’s meant to keep your skin hydrated for 12 hours. I live in a desert where my skin gets really dry, so I’m a good tester – yes it really did what it said it would.
Finally, the scents are so yummy that it’s hard to decide which I like best. The vanilla is a rich, natural buttery scent, but I’m leaning towards the African Citrus, which is so unique and beautiful for after your morning shower.
A big thumb’s up to Out Of Africa Shea, and particularly because they donate a percentage of their profits to educate children in the women’s cooperative in Africa where the Shea is handmade.
