  1. Have you checked out the skin care line “True Elements” from Nikken?
True Elements is a wonderful new line that is 98% organic and has the EcoCert seal of approval.

  2. I am turning 30 tomorrow and I feel the most important thing for a Gorgeously Green Girl to know is to believe that you are gorgeous no matter what time of day it is, no matter whether your jeans fit that day, no matter how your hair looks and no matter what stresses are weighing. Wake up every morning and say to yourself ‘ I am a gorgeous woman living in a beautiful world.’

  3. Ooo, I bet my combination skin would love this set of products. I’ve added them to my research as I look for new, more eco-friendly beauty products to replace what I currently use.

  4. Have been looking for eye cream and moisturizer to plump out those lines without strong acids! A tip for body moisturizing as the weather becomes drier and colder is sesame oil – love it!

  5. When I use organic skincare, I feel better because I know it is safe to use. We absorb 80% of the stuff we put on our skin, so it’s important to pick cleaner products.

  6. I think it’s important to know that you can’t trust the government to regulate the ingredients in the products we use on our skin. You have to do your own research and lots of it!

  7. I’ve been searching and searching for products with ingredients I can feel good about. These products look like just the right thing!

  8. I use this line – it’s great! And just so you guys know – Osea was the first company to sign the Compact for Safe Cosmetics. They list all their ingredients on the label and don’t use anything synthetic.

  9. Thank you for all the research you do and for the information you share with all of us. Your list is in my purse, with me at all times so I can check ingredients.

  10. I think a GG girl needs to know that cruise ships can dump pretty much anything they want in the ocean as soon as they are 3 miles away from the coast! I think it is important to protect our oceans and our beauty.

  11. I’m in my last year of college, so not only do I not have any money, I’m just swimming in stress, which plays havoc with my skin. Even in towns that aren’t especially eco-friendly, many stores carry burt’s bees shampoo and skin care, and they work really well without leaving gross chemicals on your skin.

  12. What every Gorgeously Green Girl needs to know is that being green doesn’t have to be all or nothing. We all have to go green as far as we are comfortable going. Of course every thing we can be green in is great but we can’t beat ourselves up for those times that we can’t be green, or won’t be green. Plus too many people think being green has to be all or nothing. That is so very far from the truth!! Even little things will help.

  13. What I believe is important for the Gorgeously Green Girl to know is that what you eat is just as important as what you put on your skin. I think people forget the importance of using organic skin care products or they don’t want to purchase them as it can be expensive, but oh is it worth every penny. So eat green and and make green choices when it comes to your skin, period…

  14. I think knowledge is power. I think every girl should know what’s in her products and how they will effect not only her skin, but her whole body. Reading Sophie’s books has been eye opening and I certainly do research before putting anything on my face… It’s still so fun to try new organic products and these sound great!

  15. I think the most important thing for every gorgeously green to know is that is doesn’t have to cost you a lot of money to be GREEN and/or GORGEOUS!!! Mostly, it is about how you feel. Pick that one special thing that makes you feel “pretty” every day and treat yourself!!

  16. Remembering that one person can truly make a difference. All of those little ones add up to make large differences. By starting with you and your make up products, you can spread the gorgeously green knowledge. This is a contagious disease that every woman will love to have.

  17. I think it’s important for a GG girl to remember to take things in steps. Trying to green your whole life at once is overwhelming and can be discouraging if we keep setting the bar to impossible heights. I think every woman needs a reminder to take a deep breathe, focus, and tackle one hurdle at a time.

  18. I think that the Gorgeously Green Girl should definitely know what is in each and every product she uses on her body. We can’t trust that the manufacturer has the consumer’s best interest at heart. Sophie is soley responsible for me going “Green”. Thank you!

  19. I’m finding that my skin looks so much better when I combine fabulous organic skin care products with eating fresh produce and drinking lots and lots of water!

  20. I LOVE LOVE LOVE OSEA! The Ocean Cleansing Mudd completely cleared up my skin last summer. Also, love the Eyes and Lips. So glad to see you are doing a give away with them… Yay!

  21. I really appreciated Hannah’s comment. Its really true that you just need to have the right attitude! I am 26 and doing an internship in Germany with a bunch of 20 year olds.. I have never felt soo OLD! Not just maturity level but the way I look. For the first time in my life I feel that my age shows. It’s depressing! I dont always use cosmetics. When I do, I use Bare Minerals. I am not really sure how eco-friendly that is, but I dont feel like I am putting clay on my face so thats always a plus! I have noticed here in Germany, that they have HORRIBLE water. My face that is normally combination but mostly dry has become OILY! Within minutes of being washed, I have a serious layer of oil all % It is soo stessful! I use moisturizer but still have that yucky layer of oil! I am excited to get back stateside so I can get back to the old me!

  22. Buying green cosmetics can be a daunting task when some companies have only part of their lines with good/safe ratings! Do your research!

  23. The most important thing that a Gorgeously Green Girl should know is that it all boils down to making a choice.
We have a choice whether we conserve or not, whether we choose organic, whether we buy natural products or not. We make these choices and at the same time we are teaching others with our actions. Every time we reach for the recycled toilet paper, we’re telling the grocery store that we prefer it, and we’re also showing the person next to us that we choose recycled over toxic.
We teach the next generation, and at the same time we have to save this one.
We have the choice to be Gorgeously Green, and I’ve made that choice!!

  24. The most important factor that a Gorgeously Green Girl should know is that being green does not mean going without. Gourmet eating, trendy fashions and great beauty products can all be achieved while showing the environment that you care. For example, going green doesn’t mean that you have to skip your morning coffee: take a reusable coffee cup to the coffee shop or make your own at home using organic grounds. It’s a Gorgeously Green Girl’s duty to make the right eco-friendly choices, while still being her beautiful self.

  25. Every GG should know that ANYONE can go green and still live a fantastic life. (Actually better, in my opinion.)
Anyone can afford this – it’s not expensive…sometimes it’s less expensive since you’re recycling products and thinking about how to re-use.

I’m focusing on not only being a Gorgeously Green Girl, but a Gorgeously Green Mom raising another Gorgeously Green Girl… and Boy. I feel it’s vital as we learn how to go Green and live in harmony with the planet that we teach our kids how to do the same. My daughter is 3 now and wants to play with my not-so-Gorgeously-Green cheap make-up. Yikes! I need to Green so many things in a hurry!

  27. As I finish up old products, I have been replacing things with organic. My most recent purchase was Aubrey Organics hair and skin products. I love them. Too bad you have to buy most of this stuff off of the internet. It’s difficult to find good products in stores.

  28. It’s important for the Gorgeously Green girl to know that small changes can make big differences. Try changing one food category (like meat or fruits) to organic or one cleaner to homemade or even one beauty product to a similarly priced organic alternative. Slowly, the GG girl will have her whole household doing things that are better for everyone. Begin to recycle items that are no longer needed by using websites to sell them or to give them away. The possibilities go on and on.

  29. Its important to always keep them guessing..How old is she really?? With the right products this can be done…thanks Gorgeously Green for helping me do this!

  30. I know that living green is a process and it feels good knowing that any and everything that I do that is green helps our world. I appreciate all the wonderful ideas that Sophie shares helps me.

  31. I love products that are natural (i.e. safe for me and the environment), and that can be used as multi-taskers. Imagine how thrilled I was when I came across Pure Emu Oil! Not only does this incredible oil have anti-inflammatory properties, used to soothe sore muscles and joints (after a Gorgeously Green work out), but it is also great for your skin and hair! It’s quickly absorbed into the skin, and is used to heal sunburn, stretchmarks, etc. Plus, it’s a fabulous hair conditioner. Since looking great and being eco-conscious go hand-in-hand for me, this wonderful oil will definitely have a spot in my beauty pantry.

  32. I think that every girl who is Gorgeously Green already knows a lot about Earth friendly and sustainable living.Of course, there is always learning and improving and that’s beauty of it.But,I think most important thing is to share the knowledge to people around us.Women have enormous impact on other people as mothers, daughters, sisters, wives etc.Just imagine yourself as a gardener who is spreading seeds;some of them will fall on dry, poor land and they won’t grow, but some will fall in rich, fertile soil and grow into beautiful flowers,in this case another GG girl or boy!

What I would like every Gorgeously Green Girl to know is that being GREEN with ENVY is a serious no no! Envy invites feelings of being less than, of not being fully present in yourself, feelings of sadness- all of which leave us exhausted and stressed and eventually toxic. Stay within yourself and celebrate others’ abundance without being envious of them.

  34. I have been reading It’s Not Just A Pretty Face and I am learning so much about the Cosmetic Industry. I knew that I had to be careful to buy organic food and read the labels but I didn’t know I had to do that with my make-up and lotions. I started to learn about this when I read Gorgeously Green and I have continued my research. Now I go to the Safe Cosmetics Database before I purchase anything. I plan on sharing this info with my friends. They deserve to know!

  35. If you want to switch to organic fruits and veggies but you’re on a budget, start first with the veggies that have outer layers/skins you consume as those layers store the most unhealthy elements. (Apples, grapes, etc.) More veggies=happier body, prettier skin!

  36. The yellow sun should only be seen
    With black glasses and sunscreen.
    In all kinds of seasons,
    Avoid cancerous lesions,
and your face will stay Gorgeously green.

  37. It is important for the Gorgeously green girl to feel good about herself, about what she puts on her and her childrens skin (that enters her and their bloodstream),to feel good about what she uses in her precious home for cleaning and laundering, how she impacts her environment she lives in by the choices she makes. It makes her feel good to step out of the grocery markt having her “green choices” packed in a reusable hemp bag. It is also important to her to be a good green example to the people around her. She takes care of herself, tries to make an effort every day to make another good choice to help make the world she lives in a better place. And she loves to drink lots of water to get built up toxins flushed out of her system and support glowing skin by doing so:0)The gorgeously green girl is a responsible and wise woman.

  38. She also gets creative when the economy forces her to “cut back’. Making her own body scrub, facial toner or facial wash saves her a lot of money, label reading and unwanted ingredients in her skin- and body care.
