I could spend all day sniffing Lurk Perfume oils – they are just the most beautiful perfume oils ever, and make for a great Valentine gift.
I’ve always loved Lurk as a company because they are cruelty-free, sustainable, and have great company ethics. All of their essential oils are organic, and sustainably-sourced, which is not easy feat, but they’ve done it.
So, why a perfume oil, as opposed to an Eau De Toilette (which they also carry)? Well, the perfume oil is a lot less expensive ($55.00), and a good way to introduce yourself to the brand. The perfume oils are made with a base of jojoba oil, which acts as a good fixative, meaning that it holds the scent.
In choosing which Lurk perfume oil to buy, you could try their perfume sample pack, but if you want to dive straight in a get yourself or someone you love a Valentine gift, may I recommend the RSWOO5. It’s sensual and earthy (Hello Valentine!), with notes of dusky rose, and clean citrus. Actually, a perfect gift for a guy or a girl.
Remember that most perfumes out that contain a bucket load of toxic ingredients. So if you are sensitive to chemicals, I strongly recommend you avoid them. Unfortunately these chemicals don’t have to be listed on the ingredient label because they are considered to be a trade secret. But many of these chemicals are phthalates, which can disrupt normal hormone function, and can give you headaches, or make you feel dizzy and nauseous.
Natural and organic perfumes tend to be more expensive on account of the quality ingredients they use, including pure essential and flower oils. But a little perfume goes a long way. The thing I love about the Lurk Perfume oils is that they are small enough to toss in your purse.
The added advantage of a perfume oil is that you can liberally apply to your inner wrists, neck, chest, temples (or anywhere else), without the scent being too strong or overpowering.
