DIY Lavender and Clay Mask

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

It’s a wonderful and inexpensive idea to give yourself a clay facial mask at least once a month. I love to use French Green Clay because its green_claymicro molecules are super-effective at drawing toxins and impurities out of your skin. It also helps to draw blood up to the surface of your skin, which is great for cell renewal. The best thing is that this mask is incredibly inexpensive to make. I get my French Clay from Mountain Rose Herbs, where is is just $11.00 per pound (and this pound will last you a loooooooong time!). This mask is great for all skin types.

This recipe is for one application. It’s best to make it fresh each time.

  • 2 tbsp Aloe Vera Juice
  • 1tsp Witch Hazel
  • 1tsp clear honey
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Green French Clay
  • 2 drops lavender essential oil

In a small bowl, mix the Aloe Vera Juice, Witch Hazel and honey together. Using a spoon, use a sieve with which to slowly add the clay and mix with a spoon into a paste. Apply the mask over your entire face and neck, taking care to avoid your eyes. Leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse off with warm water. You face may be a little red after you remove the mask because the clay greatly increases circulation, so allow your skin to breath, and the redness will disappear after about 20 minutes (but know that it’s a GOOD thing!)

Finally soak a cotton pad with Aloe Vera and wipe off remaining residue. Moisturize as usual.
