HOOD RIVER LAVENDER

lavenderHood River Lavender Farm in central Oregon is on my list of must-visit places. The photographs of their lavender fields are stunning and their oils are extraordinary. The healing properties of lavender are legendary: anti-viral, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. It’s also one of the most wonderful oils for respiratory conditions. I saw a commercial the other day for one of those ghastly air freshener sprays and it just horrifies me that people still spray these toxic chemicals around their homes. IT WORSENS your indoor air quality considerbably, and it gives off that awful artificial scent. Instead, simply buy a bottle of pure lavender oil from a great source like Hood River, and put a few drops into a diffuser or burner – your whole house will smell wonderful. You can also get the Lavender Read Diffuser(pictured), which give off a nice strong scent. Either way, ditch the toxic sprays and get some lovely lavender.reeddiffuser

  1. I never use those “air fresheners”! They smell terrible and are so toxic. I’ve sued essential oils on lamp rings for years. Or I will put some spices in a pan of hot water on the stove. Even a spiced tea will freshen up a room. And in the winter – late October – mid May – I keep the house open so everything smells like the outdoors. I love it!

  2. Ditto with the horrible air fresheners!!
They are throwing coupons around this season left right and center so much that I could get them free but wouldn’t even dream of having them in my house or gifting them.
