As far as BB creams go, and there are now a dizzying array of choices, Haut Cosmetics BB cream in a jar is right up there with my tip-top faves. It’s a very unique formulation because each and every ingredient is extremely nourishing for your skin, and it’s also creamier than most that I’ve tested, which is perfect for my parched-dry summer skin. Here in Los Angeles my skin laps up every drop of moisture that I apply to it, and so I really need an extremely hydrating BB cream or foundation, and Haut Cosmetics hits the mark. I also like that I know, love, and recognize every single ingredient in the pot (Aloe Vera, coconut oil and loads of antioxidant fruit extracts to name but a few). This BB cream cream offers natural sun protection by way of an ingredient called vanilla bioferment,which is an optical brightener that absorbs UV rays. Because I can’t be sure of the exact SPF of this BB cream, I wouldn’t wear it without additional sunscreen when heading out into bright sunlight on the beach, but for everyday in LA (where I’m inside most of the time,) it’s perfect.
If you want a bit more coverage with a matte finish, you might want to check out their HDD cream, which is great for blemishes and/or scarring.
