The Beautyblender is the perfect makeup tool, especially for the summer. Chances are, if you haven’t used a Beautyblender before, you’re familiar with them – this cult-product has become absolutely iconic thanks to Instagram and YouTube makeup tutorials. It looks like a bright pink egg-shaped sponge and was created by makeup artist, Rea Ann Silva, to help you create a flawless finish. It’s eco-friendly because it’s non-disposable. Once you get your little pink sponge, you just keep using it over and over. It’s easy to wash out with a little soap and warm water.
The whole deal with the Beautyblender is that you can use a technique called “stippling,” which makeup artists employ to get that perfect finish. You basically bounce/dab the sponge against your face when applying your foundation. This technique along with using your fingers to gently even everything out will avoid those awful visible steaks.
I also love my Beautyblender to apply skincare products (not just makeup) – the gentle dabbing is perfect for eye serums and product that goes on delicate skin. Dabbing instead of pulling with your fingers maintains skin elasticity!
I particularly love my Beautyblender for applying liquid bronzers and cream blush. I find it blends way better than a brush, and mimmicks what I would naturally do with my hands. And, every few days, I wash my Beautyblender with soap and water and let dry completely on the counter to keep it clean and ready for daily use!
