Out & About – Top Eight Tips

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Here are some easy tips for when you’re out and about:

  1. Take your reusable water bottle and travel mug with you everyday
  2. Save money by brewing your own organic coffee at home and taking it with you in a Chantal Travel Mug (keeps it hot for the entire day!).
  3. Fill your purse with at least 2 or 3 Chico bags
  4. Make sure your tires are pumped up to their correct pressure
  5. Consider a Stay-cation, where you don’t have the expense, hassle and carbon-footprint of getting on a plane.
  6. Avoid theme parks that don’t respect the environment. If any of you have seen the movie, The Cove, you won’t be visiting Sea World in a hurry! It’s much better for kids to see animals in their natural environment and now there are such great movies that show them how animals actually behave in the environment they are supposed to be.
  7. Try a waste-free picnic and/or lunch: cloth napkins, real tableware, and reusable containers.
  8. Try trip-linking!! Challenge yourself to never go out to just one place/store – for example: School –> link –> Grocery Store –> link –> Dry Cleaner –> Post Office = ONE TRIP!
