Would you ever purposely put charcoal on your face? Charcoal is the beauty ingredient of the moment. It’s been added to cleansers, face masks, toothbrushes and even juices. It’s a detoxifier, unclogs pores and brightens skin. Now, you can make your own Alkaline charcoal lemonade in addition a charcoal facial mask.
Alkaline Charcoal Lemonade
- 16 ounces filtered water
- Juice of 1 organic lemon
- 2 Tablespoons maple syrup (if you are diabetic you can use yacon syrup.)
- 1/2 teaspoon himalayan sea salt
- 3 drops lemon essential oil
- 1/2 teaspoon activated charcoal
- Fresh mint, basil
Activated Charcoal mask – Oily Skin:
- 1 teaspoon activated charcoal powder
- 2 teaspoon purified water
- 10 drops tea tree essential oil
Activated Charcoal mask – Dry Skin:
- 1 teaspoon activated charcoal powder
- 2 teaspoon aloe vera juice
- 10 drops rose essential oil
Directions:
- Make it in a mason jar
- Fill a measuring cup with the water.
- Add the lemon juice and the syrup. Mix well. Add the salt and lemon essential oil.
- Pour 3/4 of the mixture into a mason jar.
- Add 1/2 cup crushed ice
- Add the charcoal to the measuring cup. Stir well. Slowly pour over the ice in the mason jar.
- Garnish with smashed herbs.
- Directions for Mask:
Simply mix it up. Apply to face with a cosmetic brush. Leave for 30 minutes and then rinse off.
