DIY Lemony Glycerin Soap

DIY Lemony Glycerin Soap

Want a really easy DIY for Mother’s Day? Here it is: This Lemony Glycerin soap will make your Mama, or any woman you love, SMILE!  The thing I love about this soap is that you can customize it with whatever you have to hand, and literally, all you need is 3 or 4 ingredients, and a spare 30 minutes.

I recommend using an SLS-free melt & pour glycerin soap base. You can find glycerin soap bases (in blocks), at craft stores, but they are not always SLS-free, so I get mine from Nature’s Garden.

You will need:

Instructions:

  1. Melt the soap base in a glass jug or bowl in the microwave, at 30-second intervals. I use a wooden craft stick to stir every minute or so.
  2. Add the zest of lemons (for one loaf mold) and 50 drops of lemon essential oil. If you are making 6 large round soaps, it will be the same amount of zest and EO.
  3. If you get individual round molds, you can get creative by adding dried flowers or even slices of lemon.
  4. They will take about 3-4 hours to fully set up. I leave mine overnight.

Packaging is everything – think a little rustic wooden crate (craft store) filled with natural straw etc.
