Green Your Valentine

Since Valentine’s Day is coming up, here are couple of quick tips
to green up your tokens of love:

Chocolate: Cocoa crops are very similar to coffee and sugar, in that it’s important to buy them Fair Trade. What this means is that the producers get a very fair price for their goods and that their workers are not only paid properly, but treated well.
Also remember that dark chocolate (with a minimum 70% cacao content,) is actually pretty healthy for you in small doses. So when you’re out chocolate shopping, look for Fair Trade, dark chocolate and you’ll be spreading the love all around. We love Divine Chocolate, which has the most tantalizing flavors imaginable!  If you’re trying to avoid sugar, many sugar-free chocolates contain ingredients that I don’t love. I’ve recently come across an amazingly delicious chocolate bar called the Coco Polo Cadenza Bar. It’s sweetened with Stevia but tastes as good as any chocolate I’ve ever tasted. You can buy it in boxes from Amazon (you won’t regret getting a whole box of bars – I promise!).

Flowers: Flowers are obviously sprayed within an inch of their life with pesticides, unless, you go for an Organic Bouquet from Organic Bouquet!  It’s also a little more eco-friendly to give your sweetheart a plant or a succulent creation., because unlike cut flowers, it will last for a few months, if not years. My favorite place to go for gorgeous succulent creations, like the one pictured above, is  Wisteria Lane Flower Shop.

Jewelry: If you are looking for a little trinket, visit World Of Good for gorgeous fair trade necklaces, earrings and bracelets, or Etsy for local and handmade designs.

Perfume: Finding a sensual perfume, which lasts and yet doesn’t contain toxic phthalates, is not easy feat. My favorites of Valentine Gifts are: Any of the Ajne Perfumes “Lushious Roses” by Joanne Bassett, and L’Invisible by Strange Invisible.
Sensual Gift: If you’re in the market for a naturally sexy massage balm or lubricant, look no further than Kuumba Made coconut oils – they are absolutely perfect for Valentine Gifts. Make sure you’re following me on Open Sky as I currently have a bath & body bundle on offer.
