With the coronavirus pandemic sweeping the world, stores have run out of hand sanitizing wipes, but you don’t have to worry. You can make homemade DIY Hand Sanitizing Wipes that are antibacterial at home with my simple recipe.
One very important note from me to you: These DIY Hand Sanitizing Wipes do not take the place of proper and thorough handwashing. These are good in a pinch, or to wipe down surfaces. And remember at least 20 seconds of a good scrubbing, and then a long rinse in warm-to-hot water.
Many of you cannot find rubbing alcohol, so please go to your liquor store and buy plain grain alcohol (needs to be 151% proof) and this will do the job).
Recipe for DIY Hand Sanitizing Wipes
- 1 1/2 cups alcohol (99% rubbing alcohol is the best choice) or grain alcohol (see above)
- 2 ounces aloe vera gel
- 2 tsp vegetable glycerin
- 1 tsp of essential oils (you can use any combo to make 1 teaspoon. I like cinnamon, clove, rosemary, eucalyptus, lavender and tea tree.)
Mix together in measuring cup and pour over wipes. Make sure the wipes are VERY well saturated. You want them to be even more “wet” than a regular wipe.
