A smoothie provides a base for anything you want to toss in. Here are 4 unique and smoothie boosters that you can add to your daily smoothie to dial it up to the next level:
- Bee Pollen: Bee Pollen is made by the honey bee and can be extracted from the hive without harming any of the bees. It is one of nature’s most complete foods, and is made of 40% protein, which makes it a more efficient and healthy protein than any animal protein. Its health benefits are numerous: energy boosting, immune protecting, and most significantly, bee pollen often ameliorates allergies because it reduces the presence of histamines. The best way to take it is in a fruit smoothie. Start with 1 tsp and you can work your way up to 1 tbsp
- Ashwagandha: This powder comes from a plant that is is the same family as the tomato, and which grows in climates such as India and the Middle East. It is known to be a healing herb in Ayurvedic Medicine. If you suffer from stress, fatigue, lack or energy, or difficulty in concentrating, this might be the perfect boost for you. It is an adaptogen, which means that it helps you modulate your response to stress. Add 1 tsp to your morning smoothie.
- Humic/Fulvic Acid: I’ve been recommending this a lot recently because I think it carries such health benefits. The Goodly Company carries the best range of humic/fulvic drops, so do check them out – any of their tinctures will work well in a smoothie. Add 3 droppers to your morning smoothie.
- Amla Powder (Indian Gooseberry): This is so incredibly high in Vitamin C – you will want to look into it. It gives your smoothie an all-round mega anti-oxidant boost.
