There are a handful of gifts that I have either been given, or gifted to myself, that have truly been life-changing (and I don’t use that term lightly). Since we are in gift-giving season, I thought I’d share these very personal gifts with you in case you are thinking about a way that you want to really enrich a family member’s life, or your own. All 3 gifts are definitely an investment, but an investment in your mind/body health is priceless (at least has been for me).
- TM Meditation: My father gifted me a TM course 25 years ago, and it’s one of the greatest gifts imaginable. At the time we thought it was soooooo expensive (I cringed when I asked him !), and it’s not one of the cheaper courses, however, it was worth every penny and some because it’s a tool that I’ve used every single day of my life for over 25 years. What I love about TM (Transcendental Meditation), is that it’s simply a tool that enables you to transcend your thoughts and reach a place of deep peace. It is the ultimate de-stressing tool. No matter your religion or Faith, you can practice TM because it just helps you to connect on a deeper level to your particular Faith. TM has taken me through times of deep suffering, pain and fear with a relative degree of grace.
- Nutrition Course (and beyond): I’ve always been interested in every area of natural and complimentary health. It’s the reason why I’ve taken numerous courses in nutrition, but there’s one that stands head and shoulders above the rest, and that is IIN (Institute for Integrative Nutrition). Whether you want to become a health coach, or you just to revolutionize your own health, the IIN course will utterly change your life. If you think you want to change your career, and that your dream is to help other people find their way to better health, you need to check out IIN, which is the most powerful and unique program that I’ve found. And why I think it goes beyond nutrition, is that you learn to transform every area of your life, and then the lives of your clients. It’s a win/win, and an absolutely priceless gift to give you yourself.
- Volunteer Vacation: I know a number of of people who have had life-changing experiences on volunteer vacations. I am sending my teenage daughter to Costa Rica this Summer with Rustic Pathways, where she will learn to be of service by creating a summer camp for kids who could never afford this kind of thing. She will also have fun and do a bunch of cool adventure things – this is her Christmas gift this year because I know it will change her. There are also awesome volunteer vacations for adults.
So if you think you want to give one of these kinds of gifts to someone you know, or to yourself, purchase it, snag a proof of purchase or an image of someone really healthy, happy, peaceful or helping others in some exotic location, wrap it up in a pretty little box and hang it on the tree. If you have any questions about the Integrative Nutrition course, or TM, feel free to leave me a message on my Facebook page, and I’ll get right back to you with my own personal experience.
