3 Amazing DIY Recipes For Apples

Meanwhile, Kym makes an apple beauty scrub and then Sophie shows you how make an apple super cider, which is loaded with antioxidants.

Apple Smoothie

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Green apple (Granny Smith)
  • 1-cup organic apple juice
  • 1 small frozen banana
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1-teaspoon hemp
  • 1-teaspoon chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon flax seeds
  • ¼ cup walnuts
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice
  • 1-1/2 cups of ice cubes

INGREDIENTS FOR TOPPING

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon of melted coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of table salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tablespoon packed brown sugar
  • 1/ 2 cup chopped pecan (small pieces)
  • 2 teaspoon of lemon zest

DIRECTIONS

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350
  2. Place the oven rack in the middle of the oven
  3. In a bowl add the oats, coconut oil and mix together to coat the oats
  4. Add cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, lemon zest and brown sugar, use your hands to mix and coat the oats well
  5. Place in the oven for 30 minutes
  6. After 15 minutes add 1/4 cup of the chopped pecans
  7. Bake another 15 minutes, the oats should be toasty and crunchy
  8. Remove from oven and add the remainder of the chopped pecans
  9. Cool completely

 

Apple Beauty Scrub

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ cup unsweetened apple sauce
  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon of powdered milk

Mix all these together in a bowl and then put in a mason jar to keep in your bathroom, shower or give as a gift. This scrub exfoliates the dead skin cells from the skin make the skin glowing.

 

Immunity Boosting Apple Super Cider

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 cups apple juice
  • 5 whole cloves
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 whole cardamom pods
  • 2 Chinese star anise
  • 1-inch piece of fresh ginger
  • ½ teaspoon fresh lemon zest
  • ½ orange, thinly sliced

DIRECTIONS

  1. Put juice in a medium-sized saucepan.
  2. Add cloves, cinnamon sticks, cardamom, anise, ginger and lemon zest.
  3. Cover and heat on low-medium heat for 20 minutes. The mixture doesn’t need to boil. Just get it warm, up to around 170F or so.
  4. Add orange slices during the last 5 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and strain to remove spices and fruits.
  6. Serve immediately.
