The reason I love Marie Forleo is that she is a trailblazer, whose intention in life is to help people in two distinctive, but interrelated ways: She will help you take your business to the next level, and will help you to forge a deeper spiritual connection with what you do, and the people you interact with. She believes that the two go hand-in-hand, and that once you have the spiritual connection in place and understand what you have to give to the world, the rest follows. Her advice is priceless, and has helped hundreds of women I know take their business to the next level.
So who is Marie? And, what exactly does she do? She’s a life coach (and don’t we all need one of those!), a motivational speaker, and an author. Her dream was to start Marie TV, where she delivers beautifully-produced videos on how to get ahead in business. She has been endorsed by Oprah, Richard Branson, and Tony Robbins (not too shabby), and her passion for what she does explodes out of the screen. Aside from all that, Marie is so darn gorgeous that you want to be like her, dress like her, DEFINITELY have hair like hers, and get the kind of successful business off the ground that she seems to have managed to do herself.
So, let’s talk about what she is perhaps most known for: Marie Forleo B-School. B-School is an 8 week, interactive video-based training program that teaches smart, effective online marketing strategies to business owners who want more sales and more impact from their online presence.
My friends, I put myself through B-School a few years ago, and found it to be quite life-changing in how I approached my business. In fact before B-School, I really didn’t have a business brain at all – I just coasted along, kind of hoping that everything that I was doing was working. Being a writer, blogger, and TV expert in the Wellness space, I didn’t have much of a clue how to turn what I was doing into a fully-functioning business. B-School turned that all around for me.
The really cool thing is that you get to know fellow B-schoolers on your journey because Marie organizes weekly call-in’s, and all kinds of support, where you constantly connect with one another. I had no idea who exactly would be on my course? It turned out that there was such a diverse group of people from all walks of life, and from many different countries (quite fascinating). There was a handful of well-established entrepreneurs (who had MBA’s in business), and who wanted to take their businesses to the next level, and then on the other end of the scale there were men and women who had literally just started a blog or a tiny business. I think word gets around, and people had heard (as had I), that Marie’s approach is very unique, and quite different from any other business school.
In B-School, you get taken by the hand and led step-by-step through the 8-weeks. It’s intense but utterly transformative. I’m not going to lie, it is an investment, but one that is SO worth ti. I have always chosen my investments very wisely, and education has always, thank God, been top of my list. I didn’t really get a college education way back when, and I certainly had zero training in business, which put me at a distinct disadvantage. So, when the B-School opportunity came along, I opted for an affordable payment plan, and dove in.
I think the greatest advantage of doing B-School is that at the end of 8-weeks, you will become a business leader. You won’t have to hire so many (or any) people to take care of different parts of your business (especially marketing), because you’ll have it down. And if you already hire employees, your directives to them will radically change – I can promise you that.
