Most of life’s important decisions do not offer us an obvious “right” or “wrong” choice. Life is more nuanced than that.
So one of the mantras I like to remember is: Trust yourself first.
Notice I did not suggest that you trust yourself ONLY.
Rather, trust yourself FIRST.
I realize that I am definitely going to make mistakes in life.
But I have learned that I would much rather live with the consequences of trusting myself first than not doing so.
I would much rather live with the consequences that flow from listening to my “belly brain”, sometimes called intuition, and deciding from that.
This mantra has stood me well in teaching situations, in relating with my children, in fact, in all my relationships.
And the more I trust myself first, the stronger the inner knowing voice becomes. And the better life becomes.
Prioritize your trust, and choose yourself first.
May we live like the lotus, at home in the muddy water.
