Congratulations to Sandra Bullock, who is just so down-to-earth and lovely – I’m thrilled for her. I got to see how eco-friendly Sandra is first-hand as she was part of the Oprah Earth-Day special that I did with Julia Roberts in 2008. She had Oprah tour her husband’s Austin Restaurant and also came out with a line of wonderful eco-friendly candles. Last night, instead of having diamonds dripping from her wrists, Sandra wore a gift from the woman she portrayed in The Blind Side, Leigh Ann Tuohy. Leigh Ann asked eco-friendly and (you’ll be soooooooo happy), affordable, jewelry designer Alex & Ani to create a set of expandable bangles with charms saying “We love you and good luck”. Founder of this innovative company, Carolyn Rafaelian, wishes to inspire her customers to relish what is unique and authentic about themselves. You can visit the bangle bar and create your own design. She uses recycled metals and all her jewelry is made in the U.S.
