Steamed Green Veggies

Steamed Green Veggies

I wanted to share with you all one of my go to recipes which is steamed green veggies. I keep this super simple and easy because it is the perfect side dish to a tasty meal. Some of my favorites that I almost always include when steaming veggies are swiss chard and spinach. Both are so incredibly good for you and taste delicious as well. I add a little bit of garlic and tamari sauce and the result is always amazing. I usually serve this over quinoa or brown rice. This recipe serves two.

Ingredients

  • 4 to 6 cups greens (my favorite is Swiss chard), stems and stalks removed, and roughly chopped.
  • 1 clove garlic, pressed in a garlic press
  • 2 teaspoons tamari sauce

Instructions

  1. Place the greens in a heavy stainless-steel pan with a tight-fitting lid. Add about 2 tablespoons of water. Cover and place over a very low heat. Steam the greens for 3-4 minutes or until fully wilted. Remove from heat and drain off any excess water.
  2. Place the greens in a bowl. Add garlic and Tamari sauce.
  3. Enjoy your steamed green veggies!
