Eco – Fashion Spotlight
If you are looking for a great way to make an eco contribution, how about using plastic bottles (the biggest pollutors of Mother Earth) and turning it into something better? O we love that at GG, it is the promise of recycling. How about making it into something beautiful? That’s what inspired the girls of Teeki. They created a chic, affordable swim and active wear line from a fiber made out of recycled plastic bottles. Who knew that plastic PET pellets ground down and melted would yield a fiber with just the right amount of stretch for clothing. It takes about reuse 6 -10 plastic bottles to make a Teeki bikini and the yoga bottoms use 30 plastic bottles (how awesome is that!). The material is soft and the look is some vintage inspired constructed tops and bottoms you can mix and match, with whimsical prints and colors. The yoga pants and active wear tops come in fun graphic prints as well as more basic styles. Here are just a few of our favorites from their collection.
These are really great ideas, do you ever comment or post on the Fair Trade, Organic clothing market? I work with Indigenous.com , they have great clothes and an incredible story behind them. What I am finding is that there is so much information in the Organic Clothing niche. Consumers think they are getting a product that they can feel good about but in reality it is something quite different
