TATA HARPER

Everyone’s going on about Tata Harper Skincare, so I was quite fascinated to meet Tata herself, when she was in LA last week with a gathering of prominent holistic doctors. Tata is a girl after my own heart. She’s from Columbia and lives/works on her organic farm in Vermont, where she grows many of the herbs and flowers in her products. It actually sounds idyllic and almost-to-good-to-be-true. On top of all this Tata is a dynamic and naturally beautiful woman, who is clearly on a mission to bring non-toxic and high quality products to market.

There is science behind her preparations too – so think beyond a few flower infusions and essential oils. Having sampled a few of her potions, I’m pretty blown away – for starters, they smell sublime – quite how she manages to create this wonderful scent completely naturally is anybody’s guess – a visit to her lab is on my to-do list!

I’m addicted to her regenerating cleanser, as it’s a cleanser and very gentle exfoliating scrub- in-one. It’s perfect in your morning shower, however, you would need a different cleanser to remove make-up,  especially eye make-up.

Tata is getting quite a cult following, having been favorably reviewed in Vogue and many other high-end mags. She not all hype though – Tata is the real thing with a really great product line. The only drawback is that it is expensive – that being said, you get what you pay for, and if you want bucket loads of organic goodness feeding your skin cells – you might have to dig a bit deeper.

I just love that the tide if finally beginning to turn and women are realizing that we can’t trust the skin care industry anymore than we can trust the pharmaceutical industry. I’ll take flowers over synthetic chemicals any day of the week because I know my skin absorbs over 60% of what I put into it – straight into my blood stream. Healthy organic skin care is like healthy organic food – it’s preventative health care at it’s best. I’d rather pay now than later!
