Now that we’re heading into the warmer months, it’s time to put away those heavy foundations/powders and give your cosmetic bag a little summer makeover. Here’s everything you need to create a light, but flawless summer look, while staying gorgeously green.A beautiful lightweight moisturizer, which has an SPF 25 and is wonderful under makeup is Kimberly Sayer’s Ultra light Facial Moisturizer.
The perfect summer organic foundation is Vapour Beauty’s Atmosphere Luminous Foundation stick – easy to travel with and creates even coverage with a beautiful glow.
My favorite mascara is Tarte’s Lash Hugger eco-friendly mascara in a recycled aluminum tube.
The perfect summer eye shadow is Physician’s Formula Organic Wear Eye Shadow Duo in “Brown Eyes“. For a natural-looking all-over body tan, I love The Organic Pharmacy’s Self Tanner – it goes on beautifully, doesn’t streak and doesn’t smell bad! I also love The Organic Pharmacy’s “Organic Glam Bronzer” to dust over your foundation.
For sun protection, I recommend either Solar Keys Rx, which was developed by a Melanoma survivor or any of the All Terrain sunscreens, which are PABA and Paraben free, offer UVA and UVB protection, and importantly are totally non-greasy, so you can get dressed straight after applying.
Get stocked up with these basics and create a really pretty spring-to-summer look.
FYI: If you subscribe to our newsletter, you’ll find a great coupon/offer there for the Vapour Atmosphere Foundation stick.
I just ordered my vapour organics foundation with the coupon code 🙂
You’ll really enjoy them. I wear the foundation almost everyday.
That is quite the lineup, I think I will be ordering some of the foundation myself, I am in need of a new one and love the idea of less of a mess using the stick!
The Kimberly Sayer’s products looked appealing to me until I read the label. Retinyl palmitate (Vitamin A), Ascorbyl palmitate (vitamin C) are a couple of ingredients in the Ultra Light Facial Moisturizer. Notice the root word here…palm. This means that these ingredients were derived from the palm oil plant. I avoid products (food/cleaning/body) that contain palm derivatives because species-rich rain forests of Asia and South America are being demolished to quench the globe’s thirst for palm oil.
Consider avoiding products with any root word palm or buy from organic sustainable resources. For more information about the palm oil effects go to: http://www.cspinet.org/new/pdf/palm_oil_final_5-27-05.pdf
