PEACE BASKET

I am enchanted by almost everything that Priscilla Woolworth sells at her incredible General Store.. Each item has a story to tell and is what I call “Soulful Shopping” in that a lot of love and care went into its creation. The Rwandan Peace Basket (pictured) is made by the Hutu and Tutsi women from Rwanda – who found solace in the aftermath of their terrible genocide, by weaving. This basket is made from Sisal, which comes from the Agave plant. It takes six days for just one of these gorgeous baskets, that were orginally created to contain precious gifts, to be completed. It comes filled with Himalayan Salt for bathing in. The health benefits are apparently extraordinary when you take one of these salt baths during a full moon, when the mineral absorption is greater. Spend some time browsing this wonderful store for gifts galore. Priscilla is a seriously inspiring woman.
