This week, we are highlighting the wonderful company, Traditional Medicinals. They have an enormous range of herbal teas – teas pack a serious healthly punch. They have a herbal tea blend for just about every ailment you can think of. My favorites are the Every Day Detox (pictured), because I think its important to detox as often as possible, because of the environmental toxins that we are exposed to daily. I also love the chamomile and lavender tea before going to bed. These teas are certified organic, fair-trade and the company is dark green all the way around.
The winner of this week’s giveaway will receive a basket of the their top ten best-selling teas.
Leave us a comment here on the topic “I soothe myself by….” and we’ll pick out a winner on tuesday July 21st. Good Luck
The winner of last week’s giveaway is Claudine Thomas. Here is her comment”
Hi Sophie! Thank you so much for all of the wonderful tips and tricks. Made my first batch of almond milk last month (love it!).
Green Revolution…green happens to be my favorite color:) It’s the color of life. Beautiful LIFE. To me the Green Revolution is giving life back to the earth. Most of us have taken so much from the earth, and, sadly, taken with abandon, unaware of the harm it’s doing. In the past 10 years, though, more and more people are scrutinizing how they do things. They are becoming more aware of the life around them, and the vital need to give back to the earth. The Green Revolution is a powerful force which brings awareness to everyone. The awareness to balance the earth, to respect the earth, and give life back to the earth.
Thanks you everyone who entered. Your comments are all inspiring and wonderful and we always find it hard to pick. Keep on commenting!
I LOVE the Traditional Medicinals teas, but have never tried any of the detox ones. My favorite way to soothe myself is to exercise. It is a way to stay healthy and fit, but at the same time it releases so much stress(and toxins). It is amazing how great I feel if I step away from everything and get this time to myself. Makes such a HUGE difference!
I soothe myself with books because I love love love to read…I especially enjoyed both of Sopie’s books. However Animal, Vegetable, Miracle, and the Ominvore’s Dilemma were great as well. I also enjoy yoga-I find that it will relax me and release tension when I am stressed as well as refresh and revive me when I need a pick me up.
i soothe myself with lots of laughter & yoga (i especially like to combine them when i practice w/ my girlfriends:-).
i love traditional medicinals pms & female toner teas – haven’t tried the detox tea, so i hope to win!
I soothe myself by letting go. Most of my life revolves around some sort of technology so to shut down and turn off I have to literally get down on the floor with the kids and just play without checking my email, answering the phone or even looking at the clock. That is the only I way I can truly let go and just be in the moment. I owe it to them and myself.
Isoothe myself by taking deep breaths and going on long walks across the whole city. I soothe myself by going to the park of the beach and realizing that whatever is worrying my will pass, can be fixed, or really doesn’t matter that much anyway…
In the summer time, it’s very soothing to soak my feet in cool water with a little bit of peppermint oil. You wouldn’t believe how great your feet feel after doing this!
I soothe myself by….meditation on God’s Word. Watching you on Perfect Weight America this morning was such a blessing and I am not going to put on 15K toxins daily anymore! Thank you so inspiring me!
I soothe myself by relaxing in the back yard. I can see the garden, chicken, and the woods. Perhaps with a book or magazine even. By the way my fav Traditional Medicinals tea is Organic Lemon Yerba Matte
cooking with my kids. It forces me to slow down and enjoy the process
I soothe myself by crocheting. I love to make blanket/afgans, hats, scarfs, baby blankets, etc as gifts. Giving someone something I made and seeing their faces when they open it makes me very happy. Which makes it worth all the time and effort I put into what I made, which soothes me again.
I soothe myself by working in my flower gardens. There is nothing better than getting my hands dirty and watching the flowers grow…some taller than I am. Amazing!
Thank you Sophie for your great books and great ideas on living green. I love to soothe myself by focusing on God’s promises and listening to soft worship music in the tub. It reminds me how good He really is!
I soothe myself by taking my dog to the dog beach. I love it because it gets me outside and connected to nature (plus soaking up a little natural vitamin D from the sun). In addition it makes me dog happy which makes me happy.
I soothe myself my surrounding myself with nature. Whether it be sitting outside on a sunny day or watering my organic flower & vegetable garden or letting the breeze blow through my hair, I always look to nature for relaxation to soothe daily stresses. Every day, I spend time outside to experience what our beautiful planet has to offer.
I soothe my self by cuddling with my dogs. They are my greatest joy.
At night, I soothe myself by lighting candles, turning off the bathroom lights and taking a luxurious shower. Using less water than I would if I filled up the bathtub for one bath, I turn my special showerhead setting to “waterfall” and let the warm, cascading water flow over my body by dim candlelight. I use organic and natural soaps, such as honey almond or lavendar. It is my own private sanctuary in my tiny bathroom.
I soothe myself by spending time with Tia (my chihuahua) in our chair reading a book. We have an oversize chair that when she sees me heading to it she gets crazy! I grab a book and she jumps up in my lap and heads off to sleep. It is quiet, perfect..it is my heaven.
I soothe myself by guided imagery. Life can be so hectic and we cannot get to the places we enjoy for solace. By guiding yourself to a place in your mind you can let go of the present and find a small beach of peace. Escape is soothing for me!
I used the same reusable bag today at 3 different stores. It soothes me to know I’m trying to be more green. Even though its something little I hope others will catch on too.
I soothe myself by striving to be a more rooted person. I find comfort in making small but significant changes in my life that make me a healthier person. Each time I implement a new way to be healthier, I feel inspired. It is ultimately soothing!
I soothe myself by running or doing some sort of physicial activity. I shut off the PC, my phone, the tv, etc. and just go. I enjoy running with my daughter in our jogging stroller, but nothing beats an early morning run while it is still dark and you can hear the birds beginning to wake up.
I soothe myself by breathing. Breath gives us life, so it is one of our bodies most important functions. I am always using calming breathing techniques and meditations whether at home, school or with friends. Using breathing techniques helps me to remember to be calm and confident. As I start my senior year of highschool, I will continue to use my soothing breathing to make myself a healtier, stronger person.
P.S. I’m really enjoying reading your Gorgeously Green book and making my life greener! …I also bought my mom your Gorgeously Green Diet book for her birthday, and she loves it!!
I soothe myself by sitting outside alone and just enjoying the peace and quiet. Desert evenings are very pleasant when you just sit back and relax. As a mother of two boys, sometimes quiet is all I need.
I soothe myself by listening to Maxwell and cooking something new that I will invent in the kitchen for myself and my son
