Matcha green tea powder is a really healthy and delicious way to enjoy your green tea, however, now that every coffee shop in America does a “green tea latte” you need to understand that the quality of your the tea used is very important because with Matcha tea (which is what they use,) the whole leaf is used – this means that it needs to come from a company known for their quality and safety. This is why I like Aiya America’s Matcha Tea. You can totally taste the quality of a good Matcha, and this is the best. The tea comes from the tea fields of Nishio, and surpass basic certification standards. The powder is bright green, with a delicious sweet, grassy flavor profile. Keep in mind that the whole leaf is powdered down ensuring that you get a mega amount of antioxidants along with a good punch of fiber.
Their MATCHA TO GO packets are a great way of getting your Matcha on a daily basis. Each box ($18.80) comes with ten packets of Matcha, which can be added to either cold or hot water/milk without whisking (you normally have to whisk Matcha to avoid clumping). In a coffee shop, I am charged over 4 bucks for a low-quality green tea latte, but with Matcha To Go, I can steam up some coconut milk and enjoy a high-quality Matcha latte for under a dollar a cup. Makes sense, right?
