Mandy from Makeup Mandy has created the awesome LASHX eyelash system, so that we can now safely have eyelash extensions. When I say safely, I mean that Mandy has created an entire line of products that are free of all the harmful toxins that are found in many eyelash extension products. The problem is that the cosmetic industry is not regulated, so products can come in from overseas, which are not only below par (quality-wise,) but that are also harmful to our health.
If you’ve ever had eyelash extensions, you’ll know that the process involves gluing a tiny fake lash to every single one of your lashes. The glue that is used can be choc full of formaldehyde, a known carcinogen. Many people are also allergic to this toxic chemical. It’s not just the bad chemicals you have to be wary of, it’s also HOW they are applied. A poorly trained technician will not only take hours, but may also clump your eyelashes together to stick on one fake lash (yuck!). So you’d be prudent to do diligence, and if they’re not trained by Mandy, get a bunch of recommendations/testimonials. You can also ask for photos.
If going to get your extensions done isn’t in your budget, you can try one of Mandy’s Eye Do kits, which a a little at-home system – gorgeous lashes that can be re-used 8 times.
