I love a good, green laundry product … for a number of reasons. The obvious is: I love clean clothes! Who doesn’t? But, if we dig a little deeper, there’s lot of reasons to make the switch to a “greener” laundry alternative. Top of my list is eliminating as many synthetic fragrances from my lifestyle as humanly possible. Scented laundry products are a major culprit in any home. Non-green laundry products can also contain harsh chemicals that can irritate your skin. One more? Why not! Laundry in-and-of-itself is a questionably “green” habit, so making small changes (like using green products, only running when you have a full load, opting to line-dry) can make a big difference. And today, I am so excited to share a brand that I love: Grab Green.
A mother of two developed this line of naturally derived detergent products because she wanted a healthier, non-toxic, and greener home for her family. The Grab Green philosophy is to simplify your laundry – minimize waste and use the most natural and effective ingredients that you can. I love the fact that the detergent comes in little water-soluble pods. You just throw them into your washer, as they are pre-measured. This totally eliminates sticky drips and spills from regular detergent and minimizes waste considerably. And with a complete collection of laundry products (including detergent pods and powders, bleach alternatives, and dryer sheets), Grab Green has your entire laundry routine covered. I particularly love the Stoneworks collection – that is a great place to start!
And! Since this blog was originally published in 2009, Grab Green has dramatically grown their line to not only include laundry, but also kitchen care (I love their dishwasher pods), air fresheners and personal care. Grab Green is an amazing line for any home, I cannot recommend their products enough.
This product sounds fantastic.
I began using green laundry products about 6 months ago when I developed a rash and itching I could not get rid of! I haven’t really found anything that works well; and I HATE to use bleach, so I use vinegar instead – but I’m willing to try this!!
Where Can I buy this?
I want to thank you Sofia for all the wonderful ways to use vinegar and hydrogen peroxide. I use it in my laundry, wash my windows and use many of the other ideas you suggest.
