EVE ORGANICS GIVEAWAY

mmmm-0202-1We ADORE this mineral make-up line from Eve Organics. Their foundations really gives a totally flawless (not dry and powdery) finish and stays good for the entire day. We also love that the brush (and suggested application technique) that it comes with, stops the makeup from getting everywhere – a problem with most mineral blends.

It is completely free of any fillers, additives, bismuth oxychloride, talc, parabens, etc.  There are hardly any companies that can boast that purity.  Therefore, the colors are much more concentrated in color, which also means that a little goes a long way and the product will go much further for the same amount of product.

We are giving away the large starter kit (pictured) to one lucky winner this week.

Leave us a comment on the topic “Gratitude” and we’ll pick a winner on wednesday Augut 5th

  1. Having gratitude can come easy at times and other times it can be difficult. It is a powerful thing! I really like this quote as I feel it defines gratitude in a unique way: Gratitude is the key to a happy life that we hold in our hands, because if we are not grateful, then no matter how much we have we will not be happy because we will always want to have something else or something more.

  2. Graditude is the key to peace and happiness in our lifes. If we have gratitude for lifes lessons, good or bad, we shed the stress and negativity that seems to creep into our everyday lives.

  3. Gratitude is something so easy to overlook; so easy to wish for something you don’t have rather than appreciate that which you do have. I’m in a very stressful place in my life (and have the hives to prove it). As I try to work through and around the stress, I’ve been above to foster a new gratitude for the wonderful things in my life. Sometimes its helpful to look at the worst case scenario and see, if you hit that spot, what would be left? I went there and saw how much I would still have. The acceptance of that, the gratitude for the many gifts I would still have, has helped me immensely. The hives are even starting to fade 🙂 Gratitude can be very powerful.

  4. Gratitude…we need more of it! We have soooo much to be grateful for in this country. I am grateful to my husband, my family, myself, and my God- for so many things but also for who they are. I am so blessed and want to remember it daily! Oh, and I am thankful for Sophie’s book, that opened my eyes to even more things that I am grateful for! thanks!

  5. Real happiness lies in that which never comes nor goes, but simply….is. To be grateful for what your life’s composed of at this very moment is the key to all happiness. We are constantly wanting more, pushing harder, and working towards achieving what we think our “perfect” life should look like….but to be happy in every moment just for what it is portrays true gratefulness and joy. I am thankful for each day and each moment I have with my family….I should tell them that every day.

  6. Since making the decision to be more aware of my impact on my own world and the world at large I have grown so much. Things I took for granted all of my life have become at the very least a realization. I never looked at a piece of paper, a toothbrush, a glass of water, the food I put into my body or anything in truth with gratitude. I am grateful for all that I have become aware of that has resulted in every small change I have made. Today I am grateful for lemons, finally finding washing soda locally, deciding on the bicycle I am going to buy and that my college registration for the fall is done!

  7. The key to a happy life is to live with gratitude in our hearts. Everyday I start the day with meditation and thanking the Universe for the new day. Every evening at dinner, my family goes around the table and says what we have been grateful for that day. Before I go to bed, I write in my journal about the small wonders in the day which have brought me happiness, for which I am grateful.

  8. Every night, my boyfriend and I write three things that each of us are grateful for during the day or things that made us smile. It’s not only great to reflect on your day and be happy for it, but we also reflect on our week every Sunday night. It’s a great record of a wonderful, happy life to be thankful for.

  9. Life is bliss if you practice gratitude. Living honestly, being grateful to the earth for what it provides and giving back by living green keeps your soul pure and your conscience clear.

    …and that is priceless.

Gratitude is having my husband home after him being deployed to Iraq for 13 months. Especially, at night, after a long day of trying to potty train our 3 yr old on #2 and throwing numerous dirty undies in the laundry =)

  11. I try to to teach my children the true meaning of gratitude. During these uncertain times our children need to know that we should be thankful for all the wonderful things that we have. I’m very proud of them when they show their gratitude for things.

  12. There are so many things to be greatful for in our day to day lives. It’s often that we lose sight of these and let the stresses begin to overwhelm us. I know that i often let my stresses get the best of me and it takes effort every day to remember that there are so many things to be grateful for.

  13. It is simple; gratitude is the most powerful instrument you have to bring sparkle into your life and be happy. When you switch your mind from the things you lack to the things you are grateful for, you experience the thrill of being aware of all the abundance in your life. It’s like magic!

Gratitude is being thankful. Not only having it, but giving it. Telling people just how much you are thankful and grateful for them means more than anything you could ever do for someone. To have appreciation is a great gift, and i am grateful to have life. I’m grateful to be here on earth making a difference and helping anyone along my path. I am grateful to be healthy and present in this beautiful life we have been given.

  15. I find it’s easiest to be grateful when I live in each moment. Instead of focusing on what I didn’t get done today, or what I am going to do this weekend…I take time to be grateful for my children’s laughter, a roof over my head, a healthy body.

  16. Gratitude is finding peace with whatever we have and being truly happy. Gratitude is one of the greatest tools we have in this life. Be thankful for what you have!

  17. gratitude, for me, is related to a sense of compassion– that is, feeling the gentleness and kindness of others from their actions towards us. i have been in situations that only through the compassion of others have i been able to pull, and i am truly grateful to them.

  18. Gratitude for me means taking a deep breath, rethinking my life and situations, and thanking my lucky stars – and the one above – for all that I have, not what I don’t have. Gratitude is looking for that one thing in life, however miniscule you may think it is, and realizing that that little scrap of “you” is what keeps you going. There is always something that is worth being thankful for.

  19. gratitude: –noun the quality or feeling of being grateful or thankful.

Think about it, gratitude never comes from the gift given. It is derived from the thought behind the gift. Yes, every girl would love a designer handbag. But more importantly, every girl wants to feel that someone is thinking about her and cares for her. Being thankful for the small things in life lead to a happier, healthier outlook on things. Looking at the bigger picture, America is such a wonderful place to live. Even when times are tough, we have pleasures that many cannot even dream about. Live it up! Be thankful for what you have! Be grateful for everything from the hummingbird blissfully thriving outside your window, to the children in your very household that may at times make you want to pull your hair out, but are the greastest gifts one could posses! Also, pass the gratitude on! A simple thank you with actual meaning behind it could put the cashier at starbucks in a little bit better mood as well! Pay it forward. thank you :]

  20. I am halfway through Gorgeously Green and so grateful to have found this book! My life has really changed for the better over the past few days because Sophie’s book has opened my eyes and woken me up from a deep slumber. I haven’t felt this alive and powerful for a long time! I feel like a busy-bee making changes daily for a greener world. Thank you, Sophie, for empowering me to lead a healthier life!

  21. I am in my 4th month of my new lifestyle! I am attending Bikram yoga daily, recycling at home and work. Started a compost in my yard. I just purchased Seventh Generation dish soap and laundry detergent! It feels great! It’s amazing how good I feel and aware I am…it’s like I have been reborn!

Gratitude is something that is sorely lacking in society today. But I think we can brink it back by just showing 1 person each day a random act of kindness in smbolyism for the gratitude we have for being so priveledge to be living on this earth at this moment.

  23. Patricia Bailey

True happiness is found through gratitude and kindness in each day of our lives. I am so grateful for having such a good life and appreciate kindness shown by all each day. Taking time to slow down and be grateful for each day can make us all a happier society.

  24. I think gratitude is being thankful for what you have instead of dwelling on things we want but don’t really need.

  25. I have both GG & GG Diet – I love the way they’ve helped me to better my lifestyle & the environment so much that I’ve gifted both & just bought another 5 copies to give away.

  26. Gratitude is taking a moment to appreciate the things that you have; when we really think about it, don’t we all have so much? I don’t believe that gratitude is a feeling that we experience by a lot of fancy things that please our egos. Gratitude, for me, is most profoundly felt by saying “Thank you,” to God for the gifts in my life that I’ve been blessed with.

  27. Gratitude is vital. There is ALWAYS something to be thankful for. When I feel like times are hard, I try to just stop for a second and look around at all the amazing blessings God has given to me and my family

  28. I would love to share a story about my personal growth in the area of gratitude as a result of joining my Sufficiency Call with other Green Girls! It’s a little long, but may help someone.

Prior to joining my Sufficiency Call, I was happily awash with millennial consumerism, as so many of us are today. My quest to accumulate more—more money, more space, more stuff—was endless, and no matter what I acquired, I was never really sated. When my husband and I finally fulfilled our dream of purchasing a condo, it was mere days before my excitement wore off and I started brooding about how small it was. Though we were incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to take a 10-day vacation together for the first time, I spent most of it bemoaning the fact that it wasn’t longer. After discovering my favorite sandals on the clearance rack and buying six pairs of them, I soon relegated five of those six pairs (unused, no less) to the back of my closet to make room for more impulse purchases! Though I lived in a world of abundance, my thoughts were constantly dominated by what I didn’t have.

Like any addict, I found myself needing more and more to feel fulfilled. My shortening attention span and lengthening credit card bills should have indicated to me that I was wandering down a destructive path that offered no hope of fulfillment, but they did not. Fortunately, that’s just about the time a very wise friend of mine invited me to be part of a weekly phone call with a team of extraordinary people engaged in an extraordinary conversation called Sufficiency.

Sufficiency is the idea that there is enough— neither lack, nor abundance, but enough. It is the idea that there is enough money, enough time, enough energy, enough food, and enough love, and there are enough of these things for everyone sharing our planet. Sufficiency is not a quantity, but a state of mind we generate for ourselves that presences us to the fact that our existing resources—both internal and external—are enough. It deconstructs the idea that we are all racing against each other to accumulate as much as possible, lest there not be enough for everyone. When we learn to cherish and actively appreciate what we already have instead of constantly seeking more, we experience Sufficiency.

My ongoing conversation with my Sufficiency Group has dramatically presenced gratitude in my life and made me excruciatingly aware of my personal impact on others in the world when I take more than I need. I express my newfound gratitude by making a daily practice of taking just enough and being consciously grateful for everything I already have: whether I am at an all-you-can-eat buffet and take only one cookie instead of four, whether I stumble across an incredible sale at my favorite boutique and buy only one sweater instead of one in every color, or whether I leave the “free turkey with purchase” at the grocery store for someone else because I already have one, I am grateful for each gift I receive, and I trust that it is enough.

Though I am occasionally still tempted to acquiesce to that old, nagging desire to accumulate, I remember that if acquisition is my obsession, I will never have time to consider the blessings I already possess. I am eternally grateful to the amazing individuals on my Sufficiency Call, who have taught me how to be accountable for my impact on the world. Thanks to them, I am now usually too busy being grateful for each person, interaction, and experience in my life to think about what I do not have—and likely do not need. By living from the perspective of Sufficiency, I live in constant gratitude, and am able to help create a more appreciative, sustainable world for all.

I once read an account of a man who was discouraged. Recently moving to New York, starting a new careeer, and being all alone, things weren’t all he had hoped and dreamed. After a little while he felt like giving up. He decided one day while on the way to work to try and change his outlook, instead of focusing on everything life “wasn’t” for him he decided to count everything that already “was” for him, or everything that was a positive in life. He started to count everything he saw or thought of that made him happy. A beautiful sky, a girl playing with her puppy, the phone call from a friend the day before. Suddenly he was at work and he started his day happy and full of gratitude. He then made this a daily practice. I don’t remember what happened to this man however i do remember he led a happier daily life. I decided to do this myself today although i read this account months ago. I have been quite stressed lately and feeling overwhelmed. It really helped me. I feel gratitude not only helps us to be happier but also helps shift our focus. No matter what our situation in life we can usually find something to be grateful for, and when we are grateful we are often thinking of others perhaps what someone has done for us which leads to what we can do for them. This is always a good thing!!!

  30. “Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.”
    William Arthur Ward

  31. Showing your gratitude to others is something my parents installed in me at an early age. And I plan to show my children the importance of gratitude and being grateful for what we have, what we are given, and for those things we don’t have and do not want. I am so grateful for all the blessings that have been given to me and it helps ease the upset I sometimes feel when I can’t have something I really want. I see all the people out there who are so much worse off than I am and remind myself to continue to be grateful for what I do have.

  32. first off I abosuletly adored your book and has taught me so much so thankyou!

Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn’t learn a little, at least we didn’t get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn’t die; so, let us all be thankful.

  33. I remember to thank the planet for giving us a happy place to live. During this recession in the U.S. we all can be green since the benefits will be priceless.

  34. Being grateful for what we have makes it easier to forget about what we don’t. Gratitude is approaching life with the glass half full.

Thanks for making the Green choice so easy!!

Gratitude is what i felt after finding this book and website… I’ve spent too long looking up so many different resources, but everything I need to know can be found here, plus the social aspect (on the website)! So grateful to find a spot to sit down and figure stuff out without all the mumbo jumbo (just plain info in an understandable way)!

    Thanks

  36. I’m grateful that I have something to say and a new writing job that lets me share it with other people. I don’t think there is any one magic feeling that makes life happy all the time, but it sure is nice to stop and look at all the little things in life that make it good.

  37. I love the book!! I am now Gorgeously Green and so is my husband!! Ha Ha
He has been reading the book too and he even became a fan on facebook!! Love it!
    Hope to win!!

  38. Gratitude is a fundamental component of most spiritual paths, a growing body of research suggests that it has important health implications, too, including better sleep, fewer physical ailments, and greater ability to cope with stressful situations. “Gratitue elevates, it enegizes, it inspires, it transforms.” Namaste

  39. So glad that someone is finally pointing women in the right direction when it comes to makeup. Thanks so much!

  40. An abundance of gratitude in our society would solve so many ills. Greed and avarice seem to be at the root of so many problems, from the individual to the corporate greed and excesses that corrupt our society and government at the highest levels. Imagine how peaceful our world could be if every single person felt gratitude for the beautiful and simple things in life…the sunrise, the rain, the love we receive from our families…gratitude might even eliminate pollution! If everyone was grateful for what they had, and stopped shopping for more and more, our landfills might not be overflowing.

gratitude is a precious gift to have, but a hard one to obtain.it is not easy, but it makes life far more worthhwhile. even when things are bad i make sure to be greatful for those bad times because i always learn from those experiences. in general, i am grateful i am alive and that i have an amazing family and wonderful friends. the path i chose earlier in life was a dead end street and i’m grateful i made it out alive.
