Erbaviva is a beautiful name, it makes me think “herbs of life”, which figuratively is one of the defining ideas of this company. Erbaviva is a Southern-California based Certified Organic luxury line of products for women at all stages of life (and babies!) A friendship between two mothers Robin Brown and Anna Cirronis turned into a shared vision for a natural product line made of the highest quality natural botanicals and ingredients that would be safe for their newborns. From this intention, Erbaviva was born.
These women are very talented! They make everything for the mom-to-be and for baby (eep!), but I had the pleasure to testing out the “Shaping & Firming” line of products, which is pretty new. The lines consists of two phases, each with sea salt scrub + oil + essence.
PHASE ONE
Phase One is for Shaping (your curves, thighs, shoulders, knees, elbows, feet, etc). The main essential oils used are pink pepper, ginger, and grapefruit – with a hint of vanilla and lemon. Invigoratingly delicious. First I dropped a couple drops of the essence in the shower, then I used the sea salt scrub mixed with a little bit of the shaping oil 2-3 times a week. In essential oil work it is said that the smell & taste of grapefruit inspire confidence. This mixture of salt/oil was inspiring my true self as I came into new layers of skin, into new awareness of the present moment – inhaling my heart & mind open, exhaling all that does not serve me.
PHASE TWO
After the week of grapefruit/ginger bliss using the shaping products 2-3 times a week, I switched to Phase Two. The first thing I noticed was that the scent is more grounding – with a blend of frankincense and helichrysum. Frankincense has been used for hundreds of years in Ayurvedic medicine to help arthritis, balance the female hormone system, increase circulation, and purify the air. Helicrysum is a relative flower of the sunflower – the name is derived from the Greek word helisso (to turn around) and “chrysos” (gold). Helicrysum essential oil is a healing antioxidant known for its work on the skin, nervous system, and liver. The signature scent also includes lavender, chamomile, rosemary, vanilla and sandalwood. I feel like this “scent” experience is grounding, strengthening, and healing all at the same time.

I like to rate things in 5 different areas: quality of ingredients, quality of experience, benefits, environmental sustainability, and overall authenticity.
I would say Erbaviva gets the Gorgeously Green seal of approval in all segments. I highly recommend checking out their Website or Twitter. The founders are enthusiastic about giving back to charity, so all the more reason to support them.
