Ancient Harvest

Ancient Harvest

I am so a pasta girl. With a stunning garlicky, fresh tomato and basil sauce, you just can’t go wrong. I also know that if I use really good quality, organic ingredients, I can create a deliciously healthy meal for the family in minutes, which won’t cost the earth. One of my favorite kinds of pasta is Ancient Harvest Quinoa pasta. I LOVE pasta, but couldn’t always justify the high-gluten content OR the heavy, gummy texture of an alternative grain noodle. Until I tried Ancient Harvest. These noodles carry any sauce, and make for a healthy, fulfilling, nutritious alliterative. You won’t see my pantry without it!

It’s light, nutty taste pairs well with virtually any sauce and made from organic corn and quinoa flour, it’s gluten-free. You just need to make sure that you don’t overcook it, as you can easily wind up with a mush on your plate. Stand by the boiling pot and when the timer goes off (do use one!) test and test again, until it’s al-dente. My other tip is to stir the pot really well when you first put the pasta in, as it tends to stick together more than regular pasta.

Ancient Harvest has so many great products in their collection. I love their protein pastas, which are made with lentils (yum). These noodles are great for anyone who’s worried about getting enough protein on a plant-based diet (which, you don’t really have to worry about, but I’ll save that rant for another time). You’ll almost always find a Heat-And-Eat Polenta in my fridge (polenta is one of my favorite plant-based side dishes – it pairs well with everything). I love that this product makes polenta so efficient!

  1. I love Quinoa pasta. I first tried it because this is the only kind of “noodles” my nephew can have because of his many, many food allergies. He’s got me hooked and now, we can all eat pasta together. It tastes great and no worries about anyone being allergic!
