I know that overhauling your pantry can be daunting, especially for your bank account. Organic and healthy food can be very expensive for any budget. But if your savvy, and know how to buy, eating organic can be VERY affordable!
TIP NO. 1: Sustainable Table’s Season Food Guide is the first place I go before hitting the grocery store or farmers market. Knowing what’s in season will help you avoid paying for over-priced, out of season products.
TIP NO. 2: Visit your farmers market towards the END – Now, I know this goes against your gut instinct because you want to get to the market early to get the best products. But hear me out: At the end of the market, farmers are way more likely to give you a bargain. They don’t want to haul product home. And don’t be afraid to ask for bundled deals!
TIP NO. 3: Finally: Coupons. I know, it’s not rocket science, but shopping with coupons is an amazing way to give your wallet a break. I love to look for deals on pantry staples, and then stock up. Here are some of my favorite sites to find organic coupons!
