I’ve on a new whirlwind of juicing because as flu season approaches I know that there are certain juice combos that will have my immune system doing push-up’s. This is one of my favorite. If you have high blood sugar, you can always take out the carrots and perhaps add some more romaine, but the sweet, bitter flavor of this recipe is perfectly balanced – along with a nice kick of ginger.
I used my new Omega Nutrition System juicer, which I am totally in love with. It’s quiet, efficient, VERY easy to clean, and best of all is a “masticating” juicer, which means that it cold-presses the foods leaving all the delicate enzymes intact. It’s also compact for a juicer in this category, and looks gorgeous on my rather crowded kitchen counter – so a hit all the way around. An investment for sure, but I’d rather invest in my health than a couple of pairs of expensive shoes (and that’s saying something coming from a girl who gets heart palpitations when it comes to shoes!)
I also LOVE the Breville Juice Fountains. They are beautifully made, easy to clean, powerful, and a bit faster than the masticating juicers.
Immunity Juice Recipe
4 carrots
3 Kiwi
1/2 lemon
1 inch ginger
2 cups Romaine lettuce
1 small Granny Smith Apple
Handful of parsley
