I’ve been poking around looking for some fun gift ideas for father’s day. I’ve made some bad mistakes in the past, the most unforgettable- at least as far as my husband is concerned, was the eco-diaper bag (for him, not me.) What was I thinking! It must have been the post-natal hormones – but whenever I’ve been disappointed with a gift (I’m a girl that loves a gift), he reminds me of the dreaded diaper bag. So this Father’s Day I’ve got to get my act together fast. Here are some of my top ideas that I know will put a smile on his face:
Rusty’s Ecostretch Board Shorts – I LOVE these new shorts by Rusty! They are cute, totally eco, and I know most men would love a pair.
If you want the father in your life to go Green with his personal care products, he certainly won’t object to this fantastic grooming kit from The Organic Pharmacy, a company I love.
My husband has put in his request for a Pillo1. He’s tried mine out and now wants one of his own. This pillow is not only designed by a back/neck doctor who knows his stuff, but it’s also non-toxic and made of completely eco-friendly materials.
If it’s smells he’s after – or you’re after for him – my favorite man scent hands-down are the Perfume Attars from Floracopeia. They are woody, earthy and very sexy. A must for a man who wears a scent. All the attars are unisex, however, the 2 that I would recommend for men are the Mitti Attar and the Motia Attar. They come in tiny bottles and are thick and potent – a couple of drops does the trick – ohhhh I’m in love with these little gems.
If you think he might need/want a new watch, why not look at an eco-friendly Sprout watch. All of their watches are made out of completely sustainable materials and are very reasonably priced.
Want to buy him a fab t-shirt? Look no further than Green Label. I have purchased a few shirts for my husband here and they are his favorite – he literally wears them until they are rags. I love all their different green/political messages, they are beautifully soft and well made with a kind of vintage feel, and most importantly this is a company that walks the walk as far as everything eco is concerned.
I’ve always loved the look of Simple Shoes on men. A great father’s day gift could be a pair of their
brand new “Men’s Over Easy” eco-suede shoes. It’s a good-looking casual shoe that can also be worn with suits for a less formal vibe. I’ve heard from a reliable source that these shoes are “insanely comfortable.”
If you man loves gardening, then get him a couple of Earth Boxes with some really great plants. It’s not too late to get some tomatoes in – so order your boxes and go buy a few tomato or zucchini plants for him to tend!
If Dad’s into his iphone, he’ll love this convenient little iPhone printer. rint He can just rest his iPhone/iTouch in the deck and with a free app, can print out crystal clear photos. The cool thing is that it’s no bigger than a box of tissues.
