Certain essential oils can really help you go into a state of deep relaxation. I especially love Frankincense essential oil as a powerful way to ease into a deep and meaningful mediation.
My favorite blend is very simple:
- 4 tsp any vegetable oil (olive, sweet almond – whatever you have to hand)
- 5 drops of Clary sage
- 3 drops of Lavender
- 2 drops of Frankincense
I create my blends in a small dropper bottle.
To use: Rub a few drops between your fingers, then apply to the thin skin behind your ears, then your temples, and finally cup your hands over your nose and mouth and take a few deep breaths in and out. This will help you to ease into a meditative state.
Remember: Always do a patch test before applying essential oils to your skin. You simply add a drop of the oil, or the blend to your inner arm. Cover with a Band Aid and check that there is no redness or swelling 12 – 24 hours later.
